Applications are now being accepted for the following seasonal positions at the Grimshaw Outdoor Swimming Pool:

SWIMMING POOL MANAGER / SUPERVISOR:


Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining staff schedules, promoting and scheduling of special events, as well as life guarding and instructing swimming lessons. Experience working in an aquatic environment, strong interpersonal and organization skills along with supervisory experience is required. Preference will be given to those candidates who possess a Pool Operators Level 1 along with a minimum of two years experience at the management level. This is a seasonal appointment (40 hours per week) from May 01 to August 22, 2010.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Minimum of 18 years of age
Aquatic Emergency Care
National Lifesaving Society Certification and Fitness Skills
Lifesaving Instructor Certification
Water Safety Instructor Certification
Pool Operators Level 1
Bronze Examiners (would be an asset)

Note: All awards / certificates Must be current

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a security clearance check.

LIFEGUARDS / INSTRUCTORS:

Responsibilities include supervision and lifeguarding of pool patrons, instructing swimming lessons, promoting a safe environment for all, performing general maintenance and cleaning duties. These are seasonal summer appointments commencing May 17 and ending August 22, 2010.

The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

3 – Senior Guards
Minimum of 18 years of age
Aquatic Emergency Care
National Lifesaving Society Certification and Fitness Skills
Lifesaving Instructor Certification (would be an asset)
Water Safety Instructor Certification
Pool Operators Level 1 (would be an asset)

3 – Junior Guards
Minimum of 16 years of age
Aquatic Emergency Care
National Lifesaving Society Certification and Fitness Skills
Water Safety Instructor Certification

2 – Life Guards
Minimum of 16 years of age
Aquatic Emergency Care
National Lifesaving Society Certification and Fitness Skills
Water Safety Instructor Certification (would be an asset)
