July 19 - 25 - Alberta Summer Games Volunteers
Volunteer can now register on line! Go to www.2010albertasummergames.ca. Click on 'Volunteers' and scroll down to find the online registration link. Call 780-624-1009 or drop by the Games office in Peace River for more information.
Did you know?
Games and activities happening right in your community will need volunteers.
-Torch Relay starts from Historic Highway Mackenzie Park and Tom Baldwin Memorial Arboretum.
-Water Polo is at the Grimshaw Pool.
-Baseball is at the Grimshaw Ball Diamonds.
-Rugby is at Lloyd Garrison School in Berwyn.
-Kennedy Elementary & Grimshaw High School will be Athletes Villages.
2010 Alberta Summer Games needs about 2,500 volunteers in total, for everything from helping the sports to serving food to welcoming guests to our Region.

Whethere you're a painter, a dancer, a musician, or a writer, show your stuff at Riverfront Park during the 2010 Alberta Summer Games.
-Belt out a tune or kick up your heels on the Talent Stage.
-Show your true colors at the Juried Art Show.

August 31 - Steve Bolkowy Annual Sports Award
This award is in memory of Steve Bolkowy who died on December 22, 1972. Steve was an ardent sports fan and promoter of sports in the Grimshaw area for many years.
Houlder Automotive Ltd. has donated the plaque, which hangs in the Town of Grimshaw Council Chambers. The Town of Grimshaw Community Services Advisory Board would like to ask all interested residents and/or sports organizations to recognize a worthy recipient by submitting a letter with their nominee's accomplishments for this annual award.
