Moving to Grimshaw

You can drive here or fly to the Peace River Airport. You will find more commercial flights going to the Grande Prairie Airport which is two hours from Grimshaw.

You’ll need to stay in touch with the people back home and let them know that you got here. Stop by the library. We have free Internet access. And, the library is full of people that know lots of things about the community.

Preparing for a home in Grimshaw.

You will need a roof over your head. For the folks that like canvas roofing we recommend you try Mighty Peace. If you prefer the comfort of silky smooth sheets we recommend Pomeroy Inn and Suites or the Dee Jay (780-332-4298). You’re likely require something more permanent.

Electricity and natural gas are required to keep the lights on and the temperatures comfortable.

Drivers License and Pets

Did you bring a pet that likes wander off and explore? Get a pet tag from the Town Office. They are crazy cheap and we engrave your phone number on it – no charge! People will phone you to say they found Fido in their backyard which will be a great opportunity to invite them in for afternoon tea... or second breakfast.

Alberta registries would like to you to update your driver’s license once you settle in. Visit the local Ford dealer, they are also the registries office. And they are open Saturdays!
